Since 1994, we have been offering our services to residents of the Amberg-Sulzbach region, but also to patients from further afield. We are an outpatient and inpatient surgical clinic specializing in the following surgical conditions: Inguinal hernia, femoral hernia, umbilical hernia, incisional hernia, hallux valgus (big toe bunion), hammer toes, carpal tunnel syndrome, Dupuytren’s disease, rapid finger, ganglion (ganglion), hemorrhoids, anal fissure and anal fistula diseases. Treatment of work, school, sports and leisure accidents at any time.
As a WHO-authorized yellow fever vaccination centre and specialist practice for tropical medicine , we also offer all standard Vaccinations incl. travel vaccinations.

Focus of the MVZ:
Surgical procedures on the hands are the domain of outpatient surgery. They can almost always be performed under local or regional anesthesia (arm only). The patient is not bedridden and has little pain to worry about after the procedure.
We have made it our mission to treat complaints or diseases of the foot and ankle optimally and in line with the latest scientific advances. Dr. Michael Scherer is an expert in this field and has achieved national renown.
A hernia is a hernia caused by a weak point in the abdominal wall. Intestines can leak out through this, resulting in a sac-like protrusion. A hernia can usually only be treated by surgery, which we can perform on an outpatient basis in most cases.
Proctology or coloproctology is a medical specialty that deals with diseases of the rectum and anal canal. After completing the prescribed further training (WO dated April 24, 2004) and passing the examination before a panel of experts from the BavarianMedical Association , Dr. Michael Scherer was awarded the additional title of proctology in April 2006.

AQS1® quality assurance system:
AQS1 is a scientifically based system for quality assurance in outpatient surgery. At its core is the AQS1 questionnaire with physician and patient sections, which documents the entire course of an outpatient operation from the initial consultation to the postoperative course. Our practice, where a large number of hernia operations are performed annually by our specialized surgeon Dr. med. Michael Scherer, has been ensuring the quality assurance standards required for the Herniamed study for many years and has been integrated into the Herniamed study for many years.
